About Us

Team

Welcome to the world of super touring.

Who are we? Well, we're two ordinary married people who enjoy the open road on Superbikes.

We're by no means experts - the views and reviews expressed here are based on our limited knowledge.

This entire idea started in April 2009 when we planned our yearly holiday. We were looking for the holiday of a lifetime and the biking trip was born. At that stage, we did not had a bike on our name. So you can just imagine how much needed to be done before September 2009. Nevertheless, we managed to buy a bikes; I bought a new 2009 Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade in July and Andre our friends bought a 2003 Honda CBR 954 RR Fireblade in August. On September 9, we took to the long road not knowing what to expect - but we fell in love with the road and the bikes within the first few kilometres.

From that trip, we learnt a great deal and made a few changes to our gear. You can read more about that in the Trip Tips section.

South Africa 2013  new

2013 is here and it's time for us to start planning our trip around South Africa again. Keep an eye on this space. I will start updating the pages for our planned trip in October. As soon as we have finalized the route around SA I will open up the pages to each day. Then from October each day will be updated as we drive, like we did on the previous trip. Hope you all enjoy reading and we will start to do more and more trips in prep for the long one.....

South Africa 9 Sept 2009

Our best holiday ever! It's a totally different experience, travelling by bike compared to a car. You become part of the landscape. You breathe it in; there is nothing that can distract you, no one to talk to, just you and your thoughts...
